Welcome! The English Speakers in Graz Stammtisch is a diverse and friendly group using English as their common language. We meet up every Thursday from 8pm at Die Herzl (Prokopigasse 12).

We are the longest-running English meetup in Graz (formerly known as ‘Anglo-Austrian Circle’), getting together every Thursday for over 50 years. Whether you are a native speaker or just enjoy speaking English as a foreign language, we are always delighted to meet new people. Please have no anxiety turning up for the first time, you will be warmly welcomed. Come and share your stories with us!

And that’s not all: before every English Stammtisch, we have a mini German Stammtisch! 🙂 Anyone interested in practising their German can do so from 7 to 8pm.

“English Speakers in Graz Stammtisch” is the name we are using since a couple of years. Originally we called our group the “Anglo-Austrian Circle”, a homage to the Anglo-Austrian Society (AAS) we split from as a student group a very long time ago (no one really remembers when exactly – the AAS was founded in July 1946! 🙂 )
